Synopsis:

This session will present the RFP requirements and the expectations for growth and evolution of OMG SysML. Work on the SysML specification began in earnest at the OMG meeting at Disneyland in December of 2001. The official formal publication of SysML 1.0 came in September 2007. Revisions have occurred over the time since then, primarily addressing inconsistencies and ambiguities. Now the OMG has released two RFPs to grow the use of SysML within the context of Model-based Systems Engineering as defined by the INCOSE MBSE Working Group.

* The Object Management Group® (OMG®) is an international, open membership, not-for-profit technology standards consortium. Founded in 1989, OMG standards are driven by vendors, end-users, academic institutions and government agencies. OMG Task Forces develop enterprise integration standards for a wide range of technologies and an even wider range of industries.

Speaker: J.D. Baker

J.D. Baker is a Systems Engineer with interest and expertise in enterprise architecture, requirements development, software/system architecture and system design processes and methodologies that support Model-Based Systems Engineering. J.D. represents Sparx Systems at the Object Management Group, INCOSE and other standards organizations. He holds a seat on the Object Management Group Architecture Board and the OMG Board of Directors. Within the OMG, he has participated in the development of UML, OMG SysML, the UML Profile for BPMN Processes, and the UML Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM).
