MBSE Model Based System Engineering One-Day Hands-On Training Workshop

Dassault Systemes and INCOSE San Diego are offering in-person, hands-on workshop on Friday, June 16th, 2023, where you will learn to build an executable model that demonstrates the power of simulation in describing a system of interest. Learn to create a Monte Carlo analysis of a representative system that will serve as a framework for solving a range of real-world problems and simulation.

This hands-on, interactive workshop will be delivered by Studio SE and will employ Dassault’s Catia Magic Cyber Systems Engineer and Catia Magic Model Analyst (formerly known as Cameo and MagicDraw).

This workshop will be held at the Dassault Systemes building in the Sorrento Valley/Mira Mesa area. Come learn MBSE for the day! After the tutorial attendees are invited to a happy hour mixer at a nearby brewery.

Synopsis:

Prepare to learn Monte Carlo analysis of a representative system using the latest version of Dassault’s MBSE software, Catia Magic Cyber SE and Catia Magic Model Analyst.

What you will need:

A personal laptop computer and power cord that you can use to run the provided Dassault Catia Magic software.

IMPORTANT – a Corporate or Government laptop may not allow you to connect to an external license server.

An education license for Catia Magic software will be provided…  You may also use your own license, as long as it’s for Cameo v19 or later. 

The newest versions of Cameo are now part of the Catia family.

Instructor:

Casey Medina

Casey currently practices and teaches systems and quality engineering across industries, including the medical device, aerospace, and defense industries. He is a dynamic speaker and owns Studio SE, a Systems Engineering training and consulting firm located in the Denver area. He has extensive experience deploying and training Model-Based Systems Engineering, requirements engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), human factors, quality engineering, risk management, and medical device design control. Casey has adapted Systems Engineering tools and techniques to analyze social and natural systems. Casey is working to identify, analyze, and address social issues that lead to homelessness to help organizations provide targeted, customized, aid to help individuals overcome the challenges that lead to experiencing homelessness.

Casey has developed products in the areas of automated stem cell growth, patient monitoring, pulse-oximetry, blood collections, electro-surgery, and therapeutics. He holds 12 patents for medical devices and has another six patent applications awaiting approval. Prior to designing medical devices, he led the creative development team for Zed, Inc. which produced architectural and interior design products.

Casey infuses practical experience into his training programs. He has multiple publications and has been invited as a guest lecturer at the University of Denver, Dublin City University, and the University of Colorado. Additionally, he has presented to numerous trade and professional organizations due to his pragmatic approach to design. Casey also serves as the lead instructor for the Caltech MBSE certificate program.
