Please see the SysML Request for Proposals below. The deadlines for the RFPs are Sept 24, 2018 and Dec 10, 2018:
The Object Management Group® (OMG®), an international, open membership, not-for-profit technology standards consortium, issued a Request for Proposal for SysML® v2, which will improve the precision, expressiveness, and usability relative to SysML v1. In order to influence the future of SysML, both members of OMG and non-members must submit a Letter of Intent to show their interest in participating in the process by September 24, 2018. In order to become a submitter, individually or as part of a submission team, companies must become members of OMG by the initial submission deadline of November 4, 2019. For more information on SysML v2, click here.
The RFP reflects lessons learned from applying MBSE with SysML since its adoption more than 10 years ago. The RFP requires the specification to include both a SysML profile of UML®, a SysML metamodel, and a mapping between them. In addition, submitters have the option to specify additional features that include model interchange and formal semantics.
OMG has also issued a SysML® v2 API and Services RFP to specify requirements for an Application Programming Interface that includes standard services to create, read, and update SysML v2 models, and connect SysML v2 models with models in other disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and logistics. Both members and non-members of OMG may show their interest in participating in the process by submitting a Letter of Intent by December 10, 2018. In order to become a submitter, individually or as part of a submission team, companies must become members of OMG by the initial submission deadline of February 1, 2020.
