Synopsis:

In software engineering, CI/CD is the combined practices of continuous integration and either continuous delivery or continuous deployment. DevOps is a set of practices that combines software development and IT operations. It aims to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality. DevOps is complementary with Agile software development and makes use of CI/CD software.

CI/CD has eight main phases: Plan, Code, Build, Test, Release, Deploy, Operate, Monitor. The DevOps CI/CD pipeline has injection points to gauge the cyber hygiene of a software program from Build through Release.

This presentation will describe several of the key areas of the CI/CD pipeline that can be used from a cyber perspective: Build, Unit Tests, Code quality, Build image, and End-to-End (E2E) tests.

Every program is unique based off customer requirements which provides the opportunity to discuss automated CI/CD pipeline injection points from a cyber perspective while staying generic enough to apply to every software program.

Presenter:
