STEM NIGHT SOIREE 2020

 

The INCOSE San Diego chapter is proud to present our 2020 annual STEM gala for our members and friends!

Bring your cape, put on your mask and get ready to battle to win! This event will be VIRTUAL, and we guarantee a fun time for all!

About the Event:

This event will showcase the amazing efforts of several of our STEM award schools! The schools will present their progress on their STEM projects, with KAHOOT! games intermixed between them! Below is a tentative schedule for our event:

6:20pm – 6:30pm Mr. Roger Dohm and team (Poway High School)
6:30pm – 6:50pm Kahoot! Round 1 – Out of this World!
6:50pm – 7:00pm Ms. Roxanna Vincent and team (Learning Choice Academy)
7:00pm – 7:10pm Kahoot! round 2 – Superpowers!
7:10pm – 7:20pm Mr. Kevin White and team (Learning Choice Academy)
7:20pm – 7:30pm Kahoot! final round – Engineering Central!
7:30pm – 7:40pm And the Winners are..!!

Synopsis:

After spending September to take some time to relax with friends and family, we at INCOSE San Diego are revitalized and ready to organize some great events for October and the rest of the year. October’s general meeting will feature a recap round-table of the recent WSRC 2020 virtual conference (led by the Seattle Chapter).

Dr. Ron Carson (WSRC presenter) will be our guest speaker. Also note that we are hosting WSRC 2021, so that will give all of us a sense of our upcoming adventure here in Sept 2021 in San Diego, California!

Guest Speaker: Dr. Ron Carson

Dr. Ron Carson is an Adjunct Professor of Engineering at Seattle Pacific University, an Affiliate Assistant Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Washington, a Fellow of the International Council on Systems Engineering and a certified Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP).

He retired in 2015 as a Technical Fellow in Systems Engineering after 27 years at The Boeing Company. He is the author of numerous articles regarding requirements analysis and systems engineering measurement, and is the developer of numerous industry systems engineering training courses. His current interests are in quantitatively incorporating sustainability considerations in systems engineering methodologies and education. Dr. Carson has a PhD from the University of Washington in Experimental Plasma Physics, and a BS from the California Institute of Technology in Applied Physics.
